Student LeadershipPRINT THIS ARTICLE
St Leo’s aims to provide opportunities for our students to develop as leaders, preparing them to make a positive difference to the world.
Every student at St Leo’s is encouraged to show initiative and exhibit leadership in all that they do. By Year 12, every student is considered a leader at the school and is expected to show lead by example acting as a role model for others in the school community.
Students are able to nominate, and be nominated for varied leadership positions throughout their time at the College. The Student Representative Council provides formal leadership opportunities for students in Years 7 – 11. Students in the Senior School have the opportunity to take on roles as Student mentors and Peer Support Leaders. At the end of Year 11, during the third term, students are invited to apply to be a prefect in Year 12. Prefects take on roles within specific ministries or act as House Captains. From the Prefect group, College Captains, Vice Captains and SRC Presidents are elected.
Our focus on developing leaders of the future means that our graduates are confident, competent, Catholic valued young men and women of conscience ready to make a positive difference to the world.
