Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses let students study courses relevant to industry needs that have clear links to post-school destinations As part of their HSC studies, students in Years 11 and 12 undertake a VET course delivered either at the College or through a joint partnership with external providers.
These courses can count towards their Higher School Certificate as well as provide formal industry qualifications as part of the nationally recognised Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Each VET course has a specific workplace component, and students must spend a minimum number of hours in the workplace to get industry experience.
The courses we offer at the College include:
- Certificate II in Construction Pathways
- Certificate II in Hospitality
We help students access externally delivered VET courses (through providers such as TAFE) if it better suits their needs.
Students can also access School-Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships (SBATs). The Careers Adviser and VET Coordinator work with students, parents/caregivers, employers Registered Training Providers to develop Training Plans on how to manage on and off-the-job requirements.
