National Aerobics Success
On Sunday the 19th August, 4 teams from St Leo’s represented NSW at the
2012 SCHOOLAEROBICS
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Held at The Greenhalgh Theatre, UTS. Lindfield, Sydney.
The 4 teams all performed beautifully, and did both themselves and St Leo’s proud. St Leo’s also hosted the event, which saw many of our creative and talented musicians and dancers, descending on Lindfield to perform the National Anthem (to begin competition – just like at the Olympics), and a variety of other excellent items to give adjudicators and parents alike, a break from the beats of the Aerobics music.
The aerobics girls had already successfully made it through two rounds of competition to find themselves at the Nationals.
Guided by the excellent coaching skills of Former St Leo’s Students and Aerobics Champions themselves – Sarah Baynie, Alice Crothers and Maddie Hogarth, the girls went on to receive 2 5th places, a 7th place, and an 8th place in Australia. Not many people get to represent at a National level, so Alice, Maddie and Sarah have done a fantastic job with the girls, to be so successful at a national level.
Well Done to ALL who competed, performed, supported, and helped out on the day – a great day was had by all – and St Leo’s has gained a great reputation as a fantastic ‘Host School for Nationals’.
